The Master of Education programme is designed for educational practitioners, in-service teachers, educational administrators and other education professionals. This programme will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to be a successful leader in the field of education.
In this programme, you will explore critical issues in educational practice, policy and research strengthening your professional learning, and enhancing your career pathway. As part of the programme core, you will complete a research-based project in addition to units such as international education, learning multiple perspectives, policies and practices, and Pathways to Understanding Education. Travel, live and work almost anywhere in the world with a qualification in international education. In this major, you will learn the history and development of International Education as a field of study, including a range of international curriculum models and practices. You will be introduced to the essential elements of the International Baccalaureate suite of programmes, including primary years, middle years and diploma programmes.
Upon completion, in addition to Murdoch Degree, you may* also receive an IB certificate in teaching and learning (PYP, MYP, or DP) or an IB advanced certificate in teaching and learning research. In this major, you are presented with opportunities to immerse yourselves in rich IB-related experience. These include IB World School observations or conversations with experienced IB teachers and members of the IB educator network (IBEN).
