Unit description

 

Business Analytics 
This unit helps students to understand how business analytics can guide and inform business decisions. In particular, it focuses on developing one’s ability to collect the data, analyse it and use the results of analysis in practice. Workshops of this programme are very practical and help students to develop analytical skills and be able to work on various business analysis tasks. Finally, this unit offers students challenging but exciting opportunities to enhance their business management skills, and work collaboratively and creatively. 


Change Management 
This unit examines contemporary change management theories and the various contexts in which they may be applied. The unit looks at the theories of organisational change, change management techniques, and the role of leadership and organisational culture in the success or failure of organisational change initiatives. 


Cultures of Innovation 
What is innovation, how does it appear and how can it be managed? In this unit, we focus on innovation beyond creativity and idea generation, providing different ways of thinking that help organisations adapt to new and emerging problems and opportunities. By exploring the link between creativity and organisational culture, and the vital role management and leadership plays in developing and fostering innovation, students will learn how to create cultures of innovation in their spheres of influence, be it the workplace or their own business venture. 


Global Strategic Management 
This unit draws together prior management learning and prepares you to think strategically by looking at all the issues and problems affecting the strategic initiatives of an international organisation. This unit will provide you with frameworks for the analysis of problems and issues  in managing an international business. It focuses on contemporary worldwide issues of competitiveness and how these are influenced by the cultural, political and economic environments, and the key functional areas of a business. 


International Business 
This unit prepares students with concepts and theories of international business and functional tools for international business applications. It allows students to develop a deep understanding of the key theoretical areas of cross-border differences in the globalisation process, foreign direct investment, foreign exchange risks, international trade and international financial markets.

 

It also allows students to acquire the skills of strategic decision-making in cross-border business configurations, foreign market entry and the major functional areas of international business such as human resource management, marketing, production operations, and research and development. Students will learn how to apply these knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems in international business. 

 

Organisational Theory and Behaviour 
This unit provides an overview of the dynamics of individual and group behaviour in organisations, as well as explore organisational theories and management processes. Students will investigate how individual, team and organisational processes affect behaviour in order to develop skills in identifying and solving problems to maximise organisational efficiency and productivity.


Scaling Agile Projects 
This unit concentrates on developing the skills needed to transform a plan into reality. Students build practical project management and budgeting skills to enable them to manage business strategy and incorporate scale and internationalisation while considering ethics and sustainability from the ground up.
